So I have two dogs, a German shepherd and a boxer mix. The boxer mix couldn’t have it, he kept throwing up so I assume it doesn’t settle well on his tummy. The German shepherd who really needed it doesn’t throw up though. He had significant hard plaque on his molars and wouldn’t let me brush it, use the special tools or anything, so this was my last resort!! It works, it’s been almost 2 weeks since I started adding this to his food and most of the build up is gone or looks like it’s going to fall off. I’m so relieved because the build up was really starting to worry me. If you purchase make sure to watch how your dog reacts to it, great product overall!

I don’t normally write reviews for things I buy but wow! With just one serving of plaque off powder on my dog’s dinner and one crumps naturals plaque busters (advanced mint) stick, his teeth are almost completely plaque free again! They’re also already noticeably whiter! Butch was a stray from Puerto Rico and was adopted as an adult so there are a lot of grooming things he isn’t a fan of and tooth brushing is one of them, this will make things much easier. Highly recommend!

My dogs were previously on VOHC verified dental chews, so they didn’t have much going on for plaque build up. However my six year old has lost any stank to her breath and their teeth are whiter so I’m no longer sweating them having gotten bored of the chews.
My cats however range from 5 years to 13 years old, and all had varying degrees of plaque and tartar build up. My brachycephalic cat needed a dental and had horrific breath, and while I was saving up for the dental work for the three of them I tried a tub of this. Vet confirmed that none of them require a dental anymore, and two only have very minor build up on their rear most molar (that all have flakes of it missing where it comes away with chews), while gums are super healthy. My 13 year old who is comfortable with me brushing and also likes to chew has immaculate teeth.
Notes from having worked years in pet stores and getting feedback:
It doesn’t work for every pet. Don’t know why. Maybe something about genetic saliva acidity, who knows, but for some pets it just appears to do nothing. It takes time for it to have an effect, so be patient, but don’t count on it to be a miracle cure for evey pet.
It is a very innocuous amount and it’s very rare for pets to have a reaction, but for historically sensitive pets it is not a bad idea to ease your way into the full dose to avoid upset.
It doesn’t matter if you sprinkle it on top or mix it into something to get your pet to eat it, this product works through absorption into the bloodstream not by contact with the teeth.
The scoop inside is exceptionally tiny, maybe a 16th of a gram. I am using 7 full scoops a day for 5 pets and the medium (180gram) container lasts me 6 months.
This often weakens the bond of tartar to the teeth, but you’ll need the mechanical action of brushing or chewing to scrape much of it away.
The VOHC label this product bears means that it has been independently tested and proven to be effective and safe. If your dental products do not have this label, then their claims are merely that.

This product arrived Monday. It is now Saturday. Photo 1 is from Monday, photo 2 is from today. I was able to pop that giant tartar deposit off with my fingernail and basically zero pressure. I’m so relieved to find something that works so effectively. Hopefully I won’t have to look forward to giant dental bills in the future. Highly recommend…. Buying the health food version for significantly less. This is just a specific type of kelp. And if you do a little bit of research you can find 100% pure organic versions of the same product made for humans for like $8.

The product is good. Period. Buy it for the product.
But the size of the serving scoop handle could not be worse. I know it sounds like I’m nitpicking but I promise you you will be annoyed by it everyday.
The bottle is not wide enough for you to stick 2 fingers in it and the damn scoop is too short. Short enough to lock itself at the hinge of the bottle and you don’t have the option of tilting it enough to get it through the hinge otherwise you’ll get dog powder all over your kitchen.
PLEASE JUST MAKE IT LONGER. I’m not asking for much. This “minor” issue just made you lose 2 stars on my review. Thank you

The powder seems to work pretty good. The plaque is not as bad and thick on the teeth. The only thing is it leaves a little residue in the bottom of the bowl but cleans and wipes out quickly with no problem. Yes I recommend!!

I have been using this product on my dogs for over 2 years and I can confirm that it does make a difference. The dogs were a little weary of the scent of the product on their dry food at first but now it doesn’t bother them. It’s a little pricy, so I buy the big container since it’s the best value.
The product helps reduce the dog’s bad breath and it helps to SOFTEN plaque, not remove it completely like some people are probably expecting. Give the dog a bone or a dental treat/toy once in a while and that combination should help remove a lot of the plaque. I can confirm this product works because my dog had plaque build up on one of her rear teeth and I was able to scrape most of it off with just my fingernail — that’s how soft this product made the plaque!
Give it a try, and make sure you give it TIME to work, like a month + to start seeing some results.

Si has realizado una limpieza de boca a tu perro, con el uso diario, el sarro de adhiere de manera muy superficial, no se incrusta.
Si ya tiene sarro, elimina bastante el mal aliento y evita que vaya a más.

Highly recommend!! I almost never leave product reviews, but this stuff was so effective on my 7 year old Goldendoodle’s teeth, that I had to share. I do believe that using this product in combination with chew bones (natural rawhide or beef bones with marrow) and continued evening brushing made a huge difference. In just two months, the thick plaque and tartar buildup on her back teeth has broken off and is significantly less, and her teeth are getting whiter! I believe this product helps soften the plaque as claimed, but the bone chewing helped break off the softened plaque. I didn’t even remember to give it daily. The smell/taste didn’t bother my dog at all. I wonder if just generic sea kelp powder would be just as effective, as I’ve seen homemade dog toothpaste include that, so perhaps will experiment with that to help maintain after we go through this bottle and plaque is all gone. Either way, this product, in addition to the chewing, was incredibly successful. I’m really happy with the results after such a short amount of time!
