I have always had at least one dog and I’m used to coping with some dog hair, but I’ve never allowed dogs on the furniture and I also think that my dogs all had hair that was fairly easy to remove.

Fast forward to 2012, and I am in a second marriage with 3 kids. The last “not on furniture” dog died and we got a new dog named Zara. Hubs grew up in a house that allowed dogs on the furniture so when we saw that that Zara was able to jump on the furniture we had to make a decision. We did it the good ol’ American way and put it to a vote. Hubs and all three girls voted to let the dog on the furniture, much to my dismay. Worse, Zara’s hair is like nothing I’ve seen before… once it gets onto cloth, most of the time it clings to the point that the hairs have to be pulled out individually. Vacuuming, tape-style lint rollers, a Gleener depiller, velcro balls in the washer/dryer, Bounce pet hair dryer sheets … they all leave a lot behind.

Fast forward to 2020 and not only am I at my wits’ end with the dog hair, but all three kids are grown women and none of us likes that we can’t sit on the furniture without having to get out a hand-held vacuum and vacuum the dog hair off the back of each others’ pants.

Fast forward one last time to last week when I finally decided to get this Chom Chom gadget. I am ASTOUNDED at how well it works. I think the secret is with the little squeegee on the roller. I’ve tried using a squeegee on carpet before and it really does work, but it is unwieldy, cannot easily be done in more than one direction, and it must be done with a vacuum nearby to gather whatever gets pulled up. Also, then the squeegee ends up with pet hair on it so it needs to be cleaned before it gets put back into service for cleaning glass. With the Chom Chom, you get the benefit of the squeegee, but since it is on the roller, it is easier to do back/forth strokes. And then as for how the dog hair gets off the roller and into the hair collection chamber… maybe it is sorcery? I have no idea how that works but IT DOES!!

In full honesty, I still have to do extra strokes to get all of Zara’s hair (it gets our other dog’s “easy hair” on the first swipe), but the amount that the Chom Chom picks up relative to the number of passes I have to make over the fabric is unbelievable!

Once the chamber is full, I use a handheld vac to remove the hair and then it is ready to go again!

The only downsides that I can see are:
    – Some dog hair gets trapped in the side hinges of the door to the collection chamber and has to be pulled out with the fingers. It is possible that if I cleaned it before it got SO FULL, that problem would go away, but we just have SO MUCH dog hair and the gadget is so effective that I would be emptying every couple of minutes.
    – The button to open the collection chamber door is right where I place my thumb for strength so I tend to pop it open when I am doing the actual rolling task (I seem to have this problem with a lot of products that have a button in the center, so that might be a “me” problem.)
    – The chom chom is 7.5″ wide which is excellent for cleaning furniture, but a narrower version would be better for clothing, especially when the dog hair gets on the clothes while they’re being worn and it would be impractical to remove the clothes (e.g., if you get dog hair on your black pants when you ride in your co-worker’s car to lunch during the workday.)

BOTTOM LINE: I have had this little gadget for less than a week and have already recommended it to several people and wrote this review while I was looking to see if they had a narrower model for my car/office/coat closet. I wish I had owned this years ago, and I would 100% buy it again.

Your always spectacle about seeing things on Tik Tok but thought I would give it a try. But this is 100% the best brush I have ever bought a great alternative between vacuuming. It’s easy to use and press a button to clean the chamber and no more more buying those refillable lint brushes this works on furniture, clothes and rugs
I usually don’t do reviews but I highly recommend this

No se le enredan los pelos, recoge muy bien el pelo, un escencial.

  4. Great buy

This things amazing. It really works you just roll it up and down over and over on the material you want to take the hair off and it works almost as good at a vacuum. So if you’re short on time or someone is coming over and you’re panic cleaning, you don’t have time to vaccum this thing is a life saver, totally amazing. Makes your couch look new. 10/10 would recommend. Way better than the sticky rollers.

Realmente remove pêlos de gatos, e com o tempo de uso passa a remover menos, sendo necessário compra um novo.

Best lint roller I’ve ever used! Picks up pet hair easy peasy! I have 5 rescue cats and 1 rescue dog, I couldn’t believe how much pet hair wasn’t getting picked up by other lint rollers & brushes. Definitely worth buying!

I have literally found the BEST pet hair remover ever – and believe me, I’ve tried lots of different kinds! Easy to use and effective. We have two cats and two dogs. Picking up pet hair is my second job! With the other pet hair/lint removers I’ve tried a significant amount of hair is left behind. On some fabrics, they’ve been totally ineffective. Not the case with this pet hair remover. It even removed most of the pet hair on a felt pillow I have – A first! (before and after pics attached) I recommend using the roller in vertical and horizontal directions to pick up the most hair. Super nice feature is the compartment that catches the hair and can be emptied out.

Been struggling with dog hair for a while now, our Bella sheds a lot. The carpet on my stairs seems to be a magnet for catching it all. This product popped up as a recommendation, and after reading reviews I figured I’d give the Chom Chom a try. I am so glad I did! I’ve tried other products, but they always leave a bunch of hair behind or take a lot of time and energy to use. Vacuuming takes forever to get it all up. The comb style removers tire my arm out.

The Chom Chom made quick easy hair removal on any surface I’ve tried it on, including a plusher carpet, sofa, and a thinner area rug. No waste like using a lint brush, quicker and easier than using a comb style remover. The big test was my stairs! A couple of quick passes that didn’t tire my arm out and the visual difference was amazing (think black/white/gray hair on a beige carpet!). To pop open the chamber to see the amount of hair it collected was so satisfying. I had to carry a trash bag with me up the stairs because it was pulling up so much hair, even the deeply embedded hairs, that I got tired of walking to the trash to empty it. I can already see that regular use of the Chom Chom is going to keep Bella’s shedding in check!

Only downsides I could see was when emptying, some of the hair gets stuck in the sides of the chamber and had to be pulled out by hand but using it in conjunction with my shop vac solved that issue. Also, during my first couple of uses my thumb kept hitting the button to open the chamber. So, I had to adjust my grip so it wouldn’t keep popping open. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed or worked around.

Only thing that would make the Chom Chom better would be to have a mini version for quick use on clothes, and maybe a modified version that could get into corners and edges (like along my stair treads).

Bottom line, I highly recommend the Chom Chom, it’s the best pet hair remover around!

I was skeptical. But it works! It really works!

I have one shorthaired cat with straight stiff fur that I believe could wedge its way into concrete. The other cat is a long-haired with a wiry thick undercoat and long fine overcoat. As much as he sheds I’m always in disbelief that there is any fur left on the cat. It’s all on the furniture and on my clothes. 😳

When I got this, I first ran it on a corduroy chaise. It picked up all the fur. There was no trace of fur left.

It’s simple to use and easy to clean. It holds more than I imagined it would.

I absolutely love this thing and do not know what I did before I received it. It works so well, takes a bit of effort…. You have to move the product hard and fast to get it to work, but it’s well worth the effort to have no cat hair all over your furniture!!!! Highly recommend. Oh and I also love the fact that it doesn’t ruin fabric, I had another product before this one that tore the fabric apart. So I was pleasantly relieved that this one doesn’t do that
