以前、他メーカーの安いのを購入したけど、使いにくいうえ、すぐに、壊れ、安物がいの銭失いでした。日用大工程度の使用には、充分すぎ、重さも、あまり気になりません。

BOUGHT THIS JUST FOR THE CASE. THERE ARE 21 SLOTS FOR HOLDING QUICK-RELEASE BITS, 7 7 7 AND THERE IS A LITTLE BLUE CLIP THAT KEEPS THE 7 HOLDER RACK TIGHT ONTO THE CASE. LIFTING THE BLUE CLIP LETS THE GRAY PLASTIC FLIP UPWARD TO ENABLE YOU TO REMOVE THE QUICK RELEASE BIT TO BE REMOVED FROM CASE. THERE ARE ALSO 32 HOLES TO HOLD SMALLER BITS THAT ARE NOT QUICK RELEASE BITS. ONLY ONE HOLES IS KINDA LOOSELY HOLDING A BIT, ALL OTHER 31 HOLES HOLD THE BITS SECURELY. THE CASE RECEIVED IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THAN PICTURED, THE 32 HOLES ARE NOT GRAY IN COLOR, ANY MORE, AND THE RIGHT SIDE THAT IS HOLDING THE NUT SETTERS IS NOT THE SAME BLUE AS THE CASE, IT IS BLACK PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE NUT SETTERS, AND THAT PART CAN BE REMOVED NOW AS WELL. ALL THE BITS THAT CAME WITH THE CASE i REMOVED AND GAVE AWAY TO A PERSON THAT HAD NONE, i ALREADY HAD NUMEROUS S2 STEAL BITS AND JUST WANTED A NICE CASE THAT WOULD HOLD THEM SECURELY, REMOVED THE BLACK HOLDER THAT HELD THE NUT SETTERS AND PLACED OTHER HOLDERS IN THAT AREA AS WELL. THE CASE IS VERY NICELY BUILT, THICK PLASTIC THAT SHOULD LAST MANY YEARS, AND THIS IS THE ONLY CASE i HAVE FOUND ANYWHERE THAT WILL HOLD QUICK RELEASE LONG BITS IN A SECURED LOCKED DOWN POSITION, HAVE MADE THIS CASE MY GRAB AND GO WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED IN ONE CASE, FROM DRILLING, TO COUNTERSINKING, TO A WIDE RANGE OF BITS – SQUARE, PHILLIPS, SLOTTED, TORX HEX EVEN THE HINGE IS A REAL HINGE NOT JUST A PIECE OF PLASTIC BEING BENT THAT WILL BREAK EVENTUALLY, BUT A REAL MOVING HINGE THAT SHOULD LAST FOR YEARS. VERY HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE

These are not like most bits you buy at Wal-Mart for $10 so you can call yourself a handyman. These do not really warp or bend, they are hard so it’s more likely to snap than slightly warp so keep this in mind and use them for what they are meant for and properly.
As for the quality of the bits (and I read all the reviews) they ARE up to my high standards of Makita. These have been at my house and arrived when I was building furniture so I instantly checked them out. They came with enough machine oil on them to lube a truck yes but oiling your tools for storage is called proper practise for an enthusiast. Spade bits ripped through the wood like a bullet through tin foil as expected, but the extension is indeed a weak point. It is steel hex shaft connected to an aluminum barrel and SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR IMPACT, maybe light weight stuff like drywall or something or driving a screw into softer woods but don’t expect it to take godly abuse. The rest of the bits are great but as said use properly, no shoving a Philips head into a screw at an angle and skipping on the screw, they are meant to be straight and fit in solidly otherwise they will indeed chip or snap, same with the drill bits, hardened metal will snap so drill straight and do not wobble your hands much, the smaller bits especially.
For you people checking out the case, yes it’s of DECENT quality, 1 layer plastic (not that tough foam or hard plastic) with plastic holders and a single through-bolt like textured rod for the hinge. Do not drop it off a roof or you may end up finding another case for all your new bits
Overall if I do need a replacement set in the future I will reorder these and so far has met all my requirements.
Will update in the future if anything happens aka they break like twigs or perform exceptionally well.
Update:
I have used these extensively the last few weeks with some contractor work and had time to evaluate them. These are so good that I decided to throw my dewalt and Milwaukee sets back in my garage and am now calling them my crappy backup sets. I have ripped through pine, steel, and rounded the head off a few screws just to see if they would hold up and they barely got a scratch. Will be updating my entire set to makita impacts. The aluminum sleeve on the extension has performed far better than expected but I am still waiting for something to happen to it, but won’t be too shocked if it stays intact till I decide to stress test it with a 1″ paddle bit and some thick oak or pine, either way it probably won’t live through those and is not really meant for that.

Item: Makita T-01725 Contractor-Grade Bit Set, 70-Pc.
Not a big fan of drills. Like most, I use an impact driver for whatever I can. Sure you may draw in short screws faster than you want. And, it’s a little rough for larger hole saw jobs. But, once you get the hang of your trigger, that’s not really an issue.
For bits, I have a pile of various branded cases, each one specializing in a different set. But, I was tired of having to carry around more than one case for various jobs. I wanted a case that could hold most of the impact bits I would need for most jobs.
This was the case.
It has room for a decent range of HEX shanks, spade bits, a couple sockets, a drywall setter, a rapid load holder, and a wide variety of bit heads. Previous to this kit, it was mainly the length of the spade bits that was forcing me to carry a larger kit (or, multiple kits). This kit came with shortened spades to fit in this (relatively) compact case.
It wasn’t all great though. The Makita black oxide drill bits (included) are just ok. They do the job, but seem to have a faster fail rate. Not a huge deal as they were replaceable with some of my other brands. Also, once in a while the smaller bits (seated in the top left of the opened case) fall out of the slots. So, I do wish the holes were tighter or set at an angle like the newer DeWALT cases. That would make them easier to see/grab. I bought this more for the case, less for the bits. So overall, I’m pretty happy. I’ll edit down the line with an update if needed.

Great set that is compact and convenient to use. A must have for any DIYer.

DIY beginner here. Used this set for a couple hours today putting 16 handles on all of my kitchen cabinets. Was expecting the bits I was using to be worn out or break after a short time because of what recent reviews said. None happened. Drill bit I used stayed intact and did a good job. I stripped some screws and managed to break the head off a screw but the bits were perfectly fine. They didn’t come drenched in oil/grease/lube either so not exactly sure what went right with my order but glad it did. Not sure what next usage brings but so far I’m liking this set and glad I chose it.
