“ProDen PlaqueOff Animal is an easy way for those dog and cat owners to care for their pet’s teeth who don’t have the patience or inclination to brush their dog or cat’s teeth regularly. The product comes in powdered form and it is simply added on a daily basis to dry or wet food. Dogs and cats like the taste of the small amount that is added.
ProDen PlaqueOff Animal does not rely on topical application or friction. The product is ingested and works systemically. The natural compound in the product comes out through the saliva and works to break down the bacterial biofilm that forms on the teeth and gums. This is how the natural bacteria in the mouth take hold onto the teeth and gums, colonizing and creating the oral problems of plaque and tartar, bad breathe and gingivitis. It does not change the pH of the mouth or kill off the normal levels of bacteria. ProDen PlaqueOff has been proven to reduce plaque and tartar on the teeth and gums, depending on composition, diet and how long it has been there. It then works to prevent bad breath, plaque and tartar from returning. Patients generally begin to see results over a 2-8 week period, and will see further benefits with continued use.
ProDen PlaqueOff Animal is made from a specific strain of selected seaweed harvested from above Scandinavia. This seaweed has developed a natural defensive mechanism against bacterial biofilm. The product is made only from this seaweed and has no additives or chemicals added. It is human grade and human tested.

About Arsenic (information supplied by ProDen’s creator, Dr. Sune Wikner)
It is important to understand that arsenic exists everywhere in nature. There are two forms of arsenic: inorganic and organic. The former may be toxic; the latter is not. In the US the upper safe consumption limit is 2 µg arsenic per kg body weight per day. In Europe the figure is 15. Note that those figures relate to inorganic arsenic. Several studies report that the algae that used in ProDen PlaqueOff contains exclusively organic arsenic (7 µg per scoop).
Moreover, ProDen contains alginates which are poorly absorbed from the intestine into the bloodstream. Instead they are excreted via feces. The alginates found in PlaqueOff have another well known property. They bind heavy metals like Strontium, Arsenic, Lead and Cadmium. Then the heavy metals leave the body via feces with the alginates and do not enter the blood. In fact, people living near nuclear plants in the US are recommended to eat algae if there is a risk for strontium leaking from the plant.
Therefore, there is no risk for arsenic poisoning for pets taking ProDen PlaqueOff.”

UPDATE FROM ME:
So far, both cats HATE it when I add this to their food. I was doing it daily, but we had so much spoiled food
from them trying to bury it and refusing to eat it, that I stopped putting it in daily. We even took a break for a while.
I just put it in their food again last night, and again, a few bites because they didn’t know I’d put it in there,
and they walked away!
I imagine this product would be fabulous for dogs, who (let’s be real) don’t get too picky over their food most
of the time. But for cat owners, it is doing to be a 50/50 if you can even get it down your cat.
We took several “before” photos of our cats’ teeth so we could compare. That was a couple months ago, and we’ve
seen no change yet. However, it isn’t a fair comparison when most of the time, they don’t want to eat whatever I’ve
put it in.
I’m also still not thrilled with the arsenic description. Even though it might be safe amounts or a “safe” type,
I can’t get past the association of “arsenic” and “poison”. I guess the amount is negligible, but I’m not
totally content about it. I prefer to err on the side of caution. Cats are so small, I could see this building up
in their system and causing problems down the road.
There is plenty in the small package. The spoon for dosage is miniscule, but is the proper amt.
I use about half of that spoon for their wet dinner (one can is split between 2 cats for dinner).
I mix it in thoroughly. I even tried making a gravy paste (which they love) with warm water and some of
that night’s can and the Proden, but they always know it is in there, and reject it.
So, I really can’t recommend this for cats, since I haven’t found a way to get it down them yet.
Anything they aren’t taking in or keeping down can’t be doing them a lot of good.

I gave this to my dog for a week before realizing she was allergic to it. I did notice her breath was getting better but unfortunately it made her scratch and lick her paws constantly. All that stopped within a couple of days after I stopped giving it to her. I’m bummed because I was hoping it would have done well for her.

This product works well for plaque on my dogs teeth. Both seem to like the taste of this powder and it takes very little product, one scoop, even for my big dog. BUT the design of the spoon handle makes it almost impossible to get the spoon out of the bottle. It’s so small and skinny and it has no wide part to grab. The opening of the bottle is so small that only one finger fits in, so my one finger chases the spoon around inside the bottle. I have to press it along the side to slide it up and out of the bottle. If I lose my tension or my finger slips, I have to start over again.
Suggestion: make a loop on the end of the spoon so it’s easy to grab. I can see someone not buying this again because of this issue.
Otherwise good product:

This PlaqueOff powder works great for my two dogs. My one had horrible breath and after taking her to the vet to get her teeth cleaned they recommended this stuff to keep the plaque off her clean teeth now. I give it to her on her morning feeding. It’s on my auto ship now.

So far my dog has no problem of me putting the powder in his food. I just put 1 scoop once daily, I will wait 1 more week to put up to 2 scoops a day. Just want to be sure he has no problems talking it first. He’s breath is better and his poops are better. The vet was going to charge me 1300.00 and would have to put him under which at his age of 14 is not good. So glad I came upon this product. My next order I will get the big container.

Pas de miracle hélas. Même avec un peu de tartre, ça n’a pas fonctionné même avec brossage. Pas vu de différence après 2 boîtes ! passage chez le véto obligatoire.

A MUST for our dogs!!
This product is fantastic and actually helps alot!! No, it doesn’t replace tooth brushing but it definitely reduces it.
We have two Chi’s which along with most other short nosed breeds, are more prone to tooth issues. They also happen to be extremely picky!!
They get one scoop daily mixed into their kibble. They weren’t impressed at first. So being i supplement their kibble with various meats, I mix/toss everything together in a yogurt container thereby coating the meat and kibble with it. Now, they don’t mind it at all.
A bottle lasts us a very long time. We’ve been using this product for almost two years. In the meantime both dogs have had dental visits, yearly exams and full panel blood work.
Our doggie dentist is always very happy with how clean their teeth are. She’s also a referral only specialist. She’s aware that we use this product and genuinely approves of it. Which is awesome because shes quick to tell us what we shouldn’t be using such as water additives, teeth gel & foams for example to the type of chews we give the dogs. (Antlers and other hard style chews/Kongs etc, are a major no for ALL breeds.) Most tooth products such as water additives are massive money wasters.
As the label mentions hypothyroidism, I always inquire when we do lab work. Thankfully both dogs results always come back perfect. Point being it isn’t causing any thyroid problems in our case. On the flipside of the coin, make sure that you are familiar with the signs of hypothyroidism. Some dogs/cats will be more prone to side effects and or sensitive to this product. Don’t let this scare you from giving it a try though!
A bottle lasts us 6-8 months for two 6lb dogs.
I feel safe recommending trying/using this. Mainly because our dental specialist approves. And both dogs teeth haven’t needed a full cleaning since using it. As well as their lab work staying consistent. With products like this, I feel it’s extremely important to wait to see if there are any reactions, does it really work or yet another pet product money waster etc..
Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend this to my fellow pet parents.
I would highly recommend making sure that your vet is aware that you use this product, and if you get your pups teeth cleaned, that your doggie dentist is aware too.
All that this product is, is a type of seaweed. It works by getting into the salivary glands.
UPDATE 07-27-2023
Due a variety of reasons, I haven’t been able to keep up with the actual tooth brushing part of our daily routine. Our youngest munchkin recently had her annual tooth checkup with the specialist.
I near fell over when she exclaimed that our dog wins award of the year for having extremely as perfect as perfect can get, clean teeth as well as healthy gums. Naturally the doc asked what I’ve been doing. I fessed up about not keeping up with my regular brushing over the past 6+ months. But there is something I do that I believe makes a massive difference instead of brushing daily. As our dogs are small, I purchase lamb pizzels for them. I break one in half. Then instead of letting the dogs hold and chew it, I hold it. While they are doing their chewing, I gently wiggle and move the pizzel around so it hits the gums as well as harder to reach areas. This method really does work and can easily be done with dogs of all sizes!
The other thing I do, is give dog treats that are extra chewy like Greenies for example. All of the treats our dogs get with exception of one, are chewy which aids in grabbing onto any tarter and removing it.
Also extremely important, WATER!! Make sure that your dog(s) are consuming enough water.
Lastly, this product just proved again how genuinely AWESOME it is and how well it works.
THANK YOU PLAQUE OFF!!!
I know this is a long read, but hope this helps!🐾

I like all was so very skeptical about this product. I have an over weight 12 1/2 year old full broken coat Russell and a 10 1/2 year old black ball of fur rescue. Small dogs tend to have yucky teeth, mine did. Their teeth were dark yellow with blackened tops. Yuck, I started this and I will admit they don’t like it but I mix it well in the food and they ate it. The first week the black part was almost gone, the second the tiny small front teeth looked 80% better and by the third week it’s almost all gone. I would say 85% gone. I will take it…I just ordered bottle number 2 and hope this continues to work for my older pups. You made a believer out of me which isn’t easy…

My little Shih Tzu’s teeth really got cleaner since adding this product to her food. Will buy again! (I do not use it every meal and it lasts a long time)

This product is truly amazing. My pup Leo had some major plaque build up, yellowing teeth, and gnarly breath (greenies didn’t help!). I started sprinkling this on his food about 7 weeks ago and it’s a miracle worker. His teeth are whiter, the bad breath is GONE, and I’ve noticed some plaque coming off. I use finger wipes to “brush” his teeth a couple of times a week which I think helps too.
It doesn’t seem to have a scent or taste – he never had any issues with it being sprinkled on his food. I would highly recommend trying this product out to help with your pups teeth!!

Funny how these things happen – what started as Newcastle University scientists studying bacteria on seaweed to clean ship hulls ended up revolutionising pet dental care. I’ve been using PlaqueOff with my dog for about two weeks, and the results have surpassed my expectations.
Admittedly, my cat needs this much more than the dog. However it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss so far, as she’s very fussy. If mixed in then there’s a much higher chance she’ll eat her food with this in. I’m hoping she gets used to it.
While my dog never had severe dental issues, his breath would occasionally turn unpleasant.. and it was never great. Within this short period, particularly the last few days, the transformation has been remarkable. His breath has reverted to that fresh, puppy-like quality- something I hadn’t realised was possible without aggressive dental intervention. He also loves the taste of it.
This works systemically to reduce plaque, all thanks to a specific strain of bacteria that lives in seaweed. Meaning it does not need to be near the teeth to work its magic. There are also numerous benefits to seaweed consumption! It’s a no-brainer really. A healthy mouth prolongues your pets’ lifespan and prevents dental bills of £££.
For anyone contemplating this product, it has now proven its worth. Simple, effective, and delivers on its promises. A solid solution for oral care. I would say, while this won’t replace brushing and chews.. but it certainly reduces their need.
